WHEN DO WE GO BACK TO SCHOOL?

 

When do we go back
to school? 

  • First day for GRADES 1-12 is Wednesday, August 30.
  • First day for KINDERGARTENERS is Thursday, August 31.
  • First day for PRESCHOOLERS is Thursday, August 31 -- an orientation day for preschoolers and their parents.

School day start and end times for each grade level are found on the school calendar (lower right-hand side) and as a link under Families & Community > District Calendar webpage.

WHO WILL BE MY TEACHER THIS YEAR?

 

Who will be my teacher this year? 

  • At the PRESCHOOL AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL levels, teacher assignments will be mailed home on Friday, August 18th.
  • At the MIDDLE SCHOOL level, PSMS will mail home assignments on Friday, August 18th.  PCIS will mail home assignments on Monday, August 21st for arrival in homes just before the PCIS Walkthrough Day on Friday, August 25th.
  • At the HIGH SCHOOL level, PNHS students received their schedules before the end of last year and will receive a fresh copy on the first day if changes were made.  PSHS will mail home welcome back letters with homeroom assignments during the week of August 14th, and the Freshman Class will get their Team Assignments during their Ice Cream Social on August 23rd.  Schedules will also be available through the student and parent portals in Aspen the week before school begins.
For all, it’s important to make sure if there were any changes to your mailing address over the summer that you inform your child’s school.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT SUPPLIES TO BRING?

How will I know what
supplies to bring? 

  • ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS provide the needed supplies.  There are no recommended supply lists.
  • The SECONDARY SCHOOLS – PNHSPSHSPCIS, and PSMS – have posted their recommended supply lists on their web pages.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT'S FOR LUNCH?

 

How will I know what’s
for lunch? 

  • ELEMENTARY and SECONDARY lunch menus will be posted monthly under Families & Community > Lunch Menus and weekly in the local newspaper Old Colony Memorial starting with the week before school opens.
Do you need information about how to pay for lunches or apply for free/reduced meals?  That information is found under Programs & Departments > Food Services.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHERE MY BUS STOP IS?

 

How will I know where
my bus stop is? 

Week of August 21, 2017:  Bus Schedules will be published this week.
The local newspaper Old Colony Memorial publishes the bus routes the week before school begins. The lists are also posted on our website under Families & Community > Transportation, and each school is provided with a copy for reference.

 

HOW CAN I STAY UP TO DATE WITH THE MOST CURRENT INFORMATION?

 

How can I stay up to date with the most current information?
