Panorama Surveys
-
The Plymouth Public Schools are continually working to uphold the district mission and to target the strategic objective of social emotional wellness for all students. One approach we have utilized to help support this objective is to partner with Panorama Education, a digital platform designed to collect and analyze data on social emotional learning.
Panorama surveys are designed to promote a positive school climate by collecting valid and reliable feedback about what matters most regarding student well-being. This survey addresses belonging, teacher-student relationships, student engagement, school safety, and other SEL related topics. Panorama’s Social-Emotional Learning measures are well-aligned with the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) framework. For specific information on this, please click on the dropdown below.
Two times per year, three different surveys are administered. Panorama provides developmentally appropriate versions of the student survey for grades 3-5 and students in grades 6-12.
The Student Competency Measures survey focuses on the social, emotional, and motivational skills that help students succeed in school, career, and life. Plymouth Public Schools have chosen to target the areas of emotional regulation, growth mindset, self-management, social awareness, supportive relationships, and grit. To view the survey, please click on the dropdown below.*
The Student Supports and Environment Survey measures the extent to which the environment where students learn influences their academic success and social-emotional development. Plymouth Public Schools have chosen to target the areas of engagement, teacher-student relationships, school safety, and valuing of school. To view the survey, please click the dropdown below.*
Panorama's Teacher Perception of Students’ Social-Emotional Learning Survey allows educators to reflect on their perception of their students' SEL skills. When selecting the topics available on the survey, Panorama's Research team identified the skills that are most observable by teachers in their students. What Are We Doing with the Survey Data?
Here's what we can do: All educators are given access to Panorama's Playbook. Each approach on Playbook is a classroom strategy that has worked in a real classroom and was vetted by other teachers. Moves are broken into three parts-- Goal, Action, and Why This Works -- to allow educators to put them quickly into practice.
Playbook moves represent a range of pedagogical approaches, allowing teachers to pick which approaches work best for them and their classroom setting.
Here's how you can help at home: To access strategies to support social-emotional development, please see the Student Resources section of the SEL page. For specific information regarding your child's survey results, please contact your building principal or your child's teacher. For more information, please do not hesitate to reach out to Cheryl DeLorey, LMHC, K-12 Social-Emotional Learning Coach at cdelorey@plymouth.k12.ma.us or 508-830-4017.
