Grace Jo speaks to seventh graders at PCIS.

Recently, Ms. Grace Jo visited PCIS and PSMS to speak with seventh graders about her life and journey as a North Korean refugee. Born in North Korea, Grace survived extreme hunger, loss, and imprisonment before escaping the country with the help of others. After years of hardship, she and her family were granted refugee status and resettled in the United States, where she became a U.S. citizen in 2013. Today, Grace shares her story to raise awareness about human rights and advocates for other North Korean refugees. We are so grateful to Ms. Jo for visiting our schools on behalf of the Dissident Project!
