Softball players show their bracelets supporting Morgan's Message.

Last week at Plymouth South High School, 6 spring sports teams (boys lacrosse, boys tennis, baseball, softball, girls lacrosse, and girls tennis) hosted dedication matches for Morgan's Message as part of Mental Health Action Week. Teams wore blue bracelets that had the Morgan's Message slogan - "taking a shot at mental health" - and the logo which features a butterfly with a semi-colon body, which is a symbol of solidarity in facing mental health challenges. Each game/match location also featured a sign to promote the message of the game.

Morgan's Message is an organization founded in memory of former Duke Lacrosse player Morgan Rodgers that seeks to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health for student athletes. "Morgan’s Message is clear: as an athlete, there is no shame in seeking physical healthcare -- the same should be true for mental healthcare. In order to close the gap, we must eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health together." (from the Morgan's Message website)

It was wonderful to see so many athletes continuing to wear the bracelets and promoting Morgan's Message. Great work PSHS student athletes! 🦋💙
