Physical/Health Education

Message from the Health Department

The health and wellness of our children is the foundation of all growth and development, physical, cognitive, social and emotional. As we know, educating children about a healthy lifestyle incorporates more than just proper nutrition and physical activity, but supporting and encouraging social and emotional growth and mental health as well. At the elementary level at Plymouth Public Schools, our Health and Physical Education Department works collaboratively to teach our students the many facets of health and wellness; from making meaningful connections with people to the importance of “making your heart beat fast every day” to learning coping strategies to handle challenging situations, to getting a good night sleep. We aim to empower our students with the knowledge of THEMSELVES;  inside and out, physical and mental, so that they are strong in mind, body and spirit to move through this world with a healthy and confident sense of self.
