Power-Down Fridays

Power-Down Fridays

Dear Plymouth Public Schools Community,

November is here, and with it, our District-wide Energy Efficiency Spotlight is shining on a theme we can all get behind: "Unplug & Unwind."

Saving energy is a team effort, and every small action makes a big difference in conserving resources and reducing our environmental footprint. This month, we're focusing on simple habits that can lead to significant energy savings across all our schools.

Here's how you can join the "Unplug & Unwind" challenge:

Power-Down Fridays: Our graphic reminds us to make Friday afternoons count! Before you head home for the weekend, take a moment to power down and unplug non-essential electronics. Chargers, computers, monitors, and even coffee makers can draw "phantom power" when left plugged in.

Lights Out: Remember to turn off the lights when you leave a classroom, office, or any unoccupied space. Let natural light do its job whenever possible!

Unplug & Unwind: As the theme suggests, let's encourage everyone to truly unplug. Beyond saving energy, stepping away from screens and taking a moment to unwind can be great for our well-being too, particularly with the holiday season approaching.

By adopting these simple practices, we can collectively make a huge impact on our district's energy consumption. Let's work together to make Plymouth Public Schools more energy-efficient!

Thank you for being an active part of our energy conservation initiative.
